About this scholarship
Karen and Olga Nybye's Foundation grant
You will receive a one-off grant of up to about 1,340 EUR (up to a maximum of 10,000 Danish kroner) for a study trip or a similar stay abroad. This Danish foundation, which was established in 1993, helps you to cover the additional costs of travelling abroad as part of your studies. The costs of the studies themselves are not covered.
Who can apply
- What it pays for: A study trip or a similar period spent abroad, not the tuition fees or course fees for your degree programme.
- Level of study: You are undertaking a theoretical or practical training programme which, including your upper secondary education, lasts at least four years in total.
- Field of study: Anyone can apply.
- Nationality and location: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply, and it doesn’t matter where you live.
- Timing: You must set off in 1 August of the year in which you are applying, and your trip must not have ended by the time the application deadline expires.
- One time only: You may only claim this grant once.
- Not for PhDs: PhD students are not eligible to apply.
How to apply
Please apply via the contact form on the Foundation’s website. Applications sent by email will not be accepted. The form is only available each year between 1 September and 30 September; late applications will be rejected. If you have not received a notification of approval by 1 December, your application was unsuccessful. The Foundation does not send out rejection notices.
How realistic are your chances?
The grant is small and is awarded only once, and the strict rules limit the pool of applicants: your trip must begin after 1 August and must not end before the application deadline. Individual applicants taking theoretical courses are given priority over group applications. If you clearly meet the criteria and apply within the short window in September, your chances are quite good.
