About this scholarship

Benefit

The ‘Ad futura’ scholarship, which is administered by the Slovenian Public Scholarship and Development Fund (SRIPS), covers two cost categories for a full course of study abroad: living costs and tuition fees. Living costs are covered up to a maximum of EUR 1,250 per month, with the exact amount depending on the country or city in which you are studying. Tuition fees are covered up to a maximum of EUR 15,000 per year, but only the portion not already paid for from another source. The funding covers the entire official duration of your degree programme.

There is a firm obligation: once you have graduated, you must work for an employer based in Slovenia for as long as you have received funding.

Eligibility

  • Nationality / residence: You are a Slovenian citizen or a resident of Slovenia.
  • Study level: You are about to start a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university abroad, or are already enrolled there.
  • Institution: Any recognised foreign higher education institution is eligible; there are no country restrictions.
  • Field of study: In principle, all areas of research are eligible for funding; the relevant annual call for proposals specifies which subject areas will be funded in that round.
  • Completion: You must complete your degree programme and obtain your degree.

How to apply

SRIPS publishes the call for applications on its website every December. The annual deadline for submissions is 20 March. You should submit your application by post to the Fund’s office in Ljubljana; the full requirements regarding the documents to be submitted are set out in the relevant annual call for applications.
