Department of Education and Skills - Ernest Walton STEM Bursary

General Description

The Department of Education and Skills supports students who wish to pursue a 3rd level course in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Each year there is a minimum of eight bursaries, two for each region: Dublin, rest of Leinster, Munster, Connaught/Ulster. The student gets a yearly amount of 2,000€ for the duration of one undergraduate course and up to a maximum 4 years postgraduate study.

Requirements

Applications are open for DEIS schools students who have selected a STEM course as first choice on their CAO application. They will be expected to be first-time candidates for the Leaving Certificate. Also, they have to be exempt from payment of the Leaving Certificate fee by virtue of holding a medical card.
