About this scholarship

Aberdeen Global Scholarship (Postgraduate)

You get a tuition fee reduction of about EUR 9,300 (£8,000), taken straight off your tuition bill for a full-time Master's at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. It is a one-off partial waiver that appears on your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), the document you use to apply for your student visa. The university offers it to help international students cover the cost of studying abroad. It applies to both taught and research Master's programmes and covers students starting in September 2025 or January 2026.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You start a full-time Master's programme, either taught or research.
  • Where you study: You study on campus in Aberdeen. Distance or online study does not qualify.
  • Fee status: You pay international (overseas) tuition fees, not UK home fees.
  • Nationality: Open to students from almost any country, as long as you have international fee status.
  • Self-funded: You pay your own way. You cannot hold a full external scholarship or another full University of Aberdeen scholarship. Awards from the University of Aberdeen Development Trust are the one exception.
  • Excluded programmes: The waiver does not apply to the DPLP, PGDE or Dentistry.

How to apply

There is no separate application. Once you are admitted and enrolled in a qualifying programme, the waiver is added automatically and shows up on your CAS. There is no fixed deadline; it runs until further notice.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award. There is no application and no selection. If you meet the criteria, an international Master's student paying your own way for an eligible on-campus programme, you receive it automatically. The main thing that rules people out is the fine print, so check your fee status, funding situation and programme against the list above before you count on it.
