About this scholarship

What ALYSSA offered

ALYSSA (also called Averroes/ALYSSA) paid a full scholarship for students and researchers from Tunisia to spend a study or research period at a partner university in Europe. It also covered travel between Tunisia and Europe. It was part of the EU's Erasmus Mundus programme, funded by the European Commission with a total budget of 2 million EUR that supported 122 exchanges. The coordinators were the University of Montpellier 2 in France and the University of Tunis El Manar in Tunisia.

Who it was for

  • Level: Bachelor, Master and doctoral students, plus post-doctoral researchers and academic staff.
  • Where you studied: You were enrolled at a Tunisian university.
  • Nationality: Mainly for people from Tunisia. Applicants from Algeria and Morocco could also apply.
  • Destination: You went to a partner university in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy or Ireland.

How to apply

ALYSSA ran from 2013 to 2017 and is now closed. No new application rounds have been announced, and the original website is offline. For exchanges between Tunisia and Europe today, look at current Erasmus+ mobility opportunities instead.
