About this scholarship

Bocconi Graduate Merit Award

You get a 100% waiver of Bocconi's tuition and fees, worth about 18,500 EUR per year, for the standard length of your master's programme (usually two years). You pay no tuition at all if you rank among the top new master's students. Bocconi University in Milan funds this from its own budget plus donations from alumni and foundations. In some cases the award becomes a named scholarship with extra benefits, such as free accommodation.

Who can apply

  • Study phase: You are starting the first year of an MSc or MA programme at Bocconi in 2026-27.
  • Field of study: Any Bocconi master's programme, all taught in English.
  • Grades: This award is purely merit-based. You need excellent academic results to rank among the top applicants. Your rank comes from your GPA (grade point average, your overall grade) plus your admission test score.
  • Nationality: Everyone can apply. International students, Italians and Bocconi's own graduates are each judged within their own group.
  • Income: You do not need to prove financial need.

How to apply

You do not send a separate application. Everyone who applies for admission is considered automatically, based on the admission file: grades, GMAT/GRE or the online Bocconi test, and motivation. A committee led by the Deans decides, and you find out together with your admission result. Most awards go to applicants in the earlier admission rounds, so apply early.

How realistic are your chances?

This is a straight top-of-the-pile award: places go to the strongest academic profiles in each group, and the committee's decision is final. It is not narrowly targeted, so many strong candidates compete. But the field is split into separate International, Italian and Bocconi groups. If your grades and test scores put you near the top and you apply in an early round, your prospects are good.
