Farmer Carl Poulsen's Memorial Scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of at least about 54 EUR (400 DKK), and sometimes more, to help fund further study or professional development. Each year, the fund awards a total of approximately 134 EUR (1,000 DKK) in instalments of at least 400 DKK, meaning that two or three people benefit from it annually. This is a small local fund administered by the municipality of Kerteminde on the Danish island of Funen. It supports residents in continuing their education, for example at a vocational college, an agricultural college, a business college or a craft college.

• Where you live: You live in the municipality of Kerteminde in Denmark.
• What you plan to do: You would like to continue your education or further training, for example at a vocational, agricultural, business or craft school.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Who can apply: Individuals, regardless of age, educational background or nationality.

How to apply

You should complete an application form, which you can request from the Adult Services Department at Kerteminde Town Council by enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope. The deadline is 1 November, and the grants will be paid out in December.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant scheme is very narrowly defined: only residents of the municipality of Kerteminde are eligible to apply, so the eligible group is very small and there are only a few applicants. The downside is that the grant amount is small – just a few hundred DKK per person. If you live in the municipality and wish to continue your education, your chances of securing one of the few places are quite good.
