About this scholarship

IE Foundation Parents Young Talented Leaders Scholarship

You will receive a full scholarship that covers 100% of your tuition fees for a Bachelor’s degree programme at IE University in Spain. In addition, you will receive a grant towards your living costs, which is based on your financial needs. This is one of the few scholarships for Bachelor’s students at IE University that fully covers tuition fees. It applies for the entire duration of your studies, which is 4 or 5 years, provided you pass your exams each year and meet the annual renewal conditions. The funding comes from donations made to the IE Foundation by the parents of current students at IE University, and not from public funds.

Who can apply

  • Admission: You were admitted to a Bachelor’s degree programme at IE University, or admitted subject to conditions, before the start of your studies.
  • Field of study: Credits are awarded for every Bachelor’s degree programme at IE University.
  • Where you study: The degree programme is offered at IE University in Spain, either at its Segovia or Madrid campus.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Grades: You have excellent grades and demonstrate leadership qualities and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Financial need: You and your family are unable to cover the full cost of your studies yourselves. You must provide evidence of this by submitting your parents’ or legal guardians’ last three payslips and their most recent tax return.
  • Timing: Applications must be submitted before the start of the first year of study. If you are already enrolled, you cannot apply.

How to apply

Once you have been admitted, apply for student finance via the IE portal. There, you will write a short essay about your financial situation and explain why you are eligible for this scholarship. Apply as early as possible, as funds are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The deadline is the start of your studies, unless a separate deadline applies. The IE Scholarship Committee usually makes a decision within one to three weeks of receiving a complete application, and the decision is final.

How realistic are your chances?

A limited number of these full scholarships are awarded each year and are highly sought-after. When awarding the scholarships, your academic results, leadership qualities and financial need are all taken into account, so academic results alone are not the deciding factor. An outstanding track record of achievement, combined with a well-documented financial need, is what sets applicants apart from the rest. As funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, applying early gives you a real advantage.
