About this scholarship

Excellence Scholarship for International Master 2 Students (University of Limoges)

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 5,000 EUR for one year (12 months). Depending on your academic profile, the Head of your Master’s programme will award you either 2,500 EUR or 5,000 EUR. The scholarship will support you during the ‘Master 2’, the final year of a French Master’s programme, at the University of Limoges in France. The University of Limoges administers the scholarship in conjunction with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You have been admitted to one of the participating Master’s programmes 2 at the University of Limoges.
  • Field of study: The topics covered include, amongst others, contemporary art and the cultural industries, legal history, banking and finance, computer security and cryptology, image synthesis and computer graphics, applied mathematics, high-performance ceramics, tropical parasitology, and water and environmental chemistry.
  • Nationality: Open to international students. If you are from a country covered by the French ‘Etudes en France’ scheme, please apply via Campus France first.
  • Future plans: You are planning to go on to do a PhD at the University of Limoges.
  • Grades: Selection is based on your academic achievements: your grades, your language skills and your research project.

How to apply

If the ‘Etudes en France’ procedure applies in your country, please register with Campus France first. You should then complete the online application form and upload all the required documents by the beginning of April. Please ensure you submit a complete application pack, as incomplete applications will be rejected. The list of successful applicants will be published in June.

How realistic are your chances?

The criteria for awarding this scholarship are very specific. You must be admitted to a specific Master’s programme, 2, in Limoges and actually intend to pursue a PhD there, which means the pool of applicants remains small. If you clearly meet the criteria for one of the listed programmes, have good grades and a sound research project, and submit your complete application by the deadline, your chances are good.
