Malmö University Excellence Scholarship

What you get

In Sweden, you will receive a tuition fee waiver amounting to Malmö University. This will cover part of, or up to 100% of, your tuition fees for the coming academic year (12 months). This will reduce your tuition fees. This is not a cash payment to you, and it does not cover living costs, accommodation or travel expenses. The number of grants and their amounts vary each year depending on the budgetary situation. The grant is awarded to students who are among the best in their year group.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are already enrolled on a standard degree programme at Malmö University.
• Fee status: You pay tuition fees. In Malmö, this means that you are a national of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
• Study year: You will be starting your second or third year of study in the coming autumn term.
• Completed courses: You have passed all the modules in your degree programme up to the time of application.
• Field of study: Anyone can apply.
• Selection: The award is based solely on your academic performance during the current academic year.

How to apply

The scholarship is advertised once a year. The university informs eligible students of the application details via the student portal. The application period usually begins in the spring and ends around 15 July. Selection is based solely on your grades; there is no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

Only current fee-paying students at this particular university who are entering their second or third year of study are eligible to apply; the pool of eligible candidates is therefore already small. Within this group, selection is based solely on academic performance. If you have passed all your modules and are amongst the top students in your year group, your chances are good. The number of scholarships varies each year depending on the budget.
