About this scholarship

Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation Scholarship

You will receive a tuition fee waiver amounting to 100,000 SEK over two years (about 8,800 EUR). This will be granted in the form of a reduction of 25,000 SEK (approx. 2,200 EUR) on your tuition fees per semester, for a period of four semesters. It covers part of the tuition fees for a Master’s programme at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. The scholarship is awarded once a year. The funds are provided by the Richard C. Malmsten Memorial Foundation and are administered by the University of Gothenburg.

Who can apply

  • You pay tuition fees: You are from a country outside the EU/EEA and are required to pay tuition fees to study in Sweden. Applicants of all nationalities may apply, provided they are required to pay tuition fees.
  • You are admitted to the right programme: You have been admitted to one of nine Master's programmes at the School of Business, Economics and Law: Accounting and Financial Management, Economics, Finance, International Business and Trade, Innovation and Industrial Management, Knowledge Based Entrepreneurship, Logistics and Transport Management, Management, or Marketing and Consumption.
  • You have a GMAT score: The exam organiser must send your GMAT result (a standardised entrance test for business schools) directly to the university. Without this result, your application cannot be considered. Applicants are ranked on the basis of this result.
  • First choice counts: You will be given a higher ranking if you have listed a Master’s programme at a graduate school as your first choice.
  • No other scholarship: You have not been offered either a scholarship from the Swedish Institute or a study grant from the University of Gothenburg.

How to apply

In addition to your application for a place on the course, you must submit a separate scholarship application. The application deadline is 17 March. Details regarding the 2027 round will be announced in November 2026. The decision is made by a faculty selection panel, and no appeal may be lodged against this decision.
