What you get

You will receive financial support for your studies in early childhood education in music and dance – known as the Orff Schulwerk – at the Orff Institute of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. The amount and duration of the grant are not made public. The funding comes from the Carl Orff Foundation, which supports the educational tradition based on the work of the composer Carl Orff. The Orff Institute awards this grant.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are studying at the Orff Institute at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
• Degree or level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme or on the postgraduate programme ‘Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education – Orff-Schulwerk’. You may also apply if you are taking part in the Institute’s specialised course or summer course.
• Field of study: Her specialism is music and dance education in primary schools (Orff Schulwerk).
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the Orff Institute at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, not directly to the Foundation. The Institute sets the deadlines, specifies the required documents and determines the selection procedures.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. Only students enrolled on Orff-Schulwerk degree programmes at this one institute in Salzburg are eligible to apply, meaning that there are very few applicants competing for the scholarship. If you are enrolled on the relevant degree programme there, you already meet the most important requirement, which significantly improves your chances. Check with the institute well in advance to find out the current application deadline, as its administration office handles the entire process.
