Fulgence Excellence Scholarship at École Polytechnique

You will receive 750 EUR per month for 36 months, which covers the first three years of the ‘Ingénieur Polytechnicien’ degree programme at the École Polytechnique near Paris. The funds come from the École Polytechnique Foundation, which is financed by donors who support international students. Around 20 of these scholarships are awarded to each year group. A separate ‘full-ride’ option, awarded to only a very small number of students, includes full exemption from tuition fees in addition to the monthly payment.

Who can apply

• Programme: You are enrolled on the ‘Ingénieur Polytechnicien’ degree programme at the École Polytechnique in France.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are international students.
• Admission path: All admission routes are permitted, regardless of how you were admitted.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects taught on the degree programme.
• Results: Judging by your results in the entrance examination and your application, you are one of our top students.
• No double funding: You are not currently receiving any other financial support from École Polytechnique, its foundation or in the form of a French government scholarship.

How to apply

No separate application is required in advance. A jury, acting as the selection panel, will shortlist the candidates. The selected candidates will receive an email setting out the terms and conditions. The final award depends on your examination results, your application documents and the extent to which you match the profile sought by the donors.

How realistic are your chances?

With around 20 scholarships per year group and selection based on the results of the entrance examination, competition here is fierce. Firstly, you must secure a place at one of France’s most prestigious science universities. If, as an international applicant, you have outstanding qualifications and are admitted, your prospects are good, as the scholarship is specifically aimed at international students rather than the entire intake.
