The Rambøll Scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of about 3,350 EUR (DKK 25,000) to help fund a semester abroad. However, this will only cover part of your costs. Rambøll, a Danish engineering, architecture and consultancy firm, awards three of these scholarships each year to students at Danish universities who are going abroad for a semester.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are a full-time student at a university in Denmark.
• Study level: You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student.
• Field of study: You are studying engineering, natural sciences, political science, economics or architecture.
• Going abroad: You are planning to spend a semester abroad at a university, usually for the coming autumn term.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying in Denmark.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted online via Rambøll. You will need to provide a CV, a personal statement and details of your planned study abroad programme. The application deadline is 1 June. A selection panel will review all applications and select three students based on their academic background, motivation and plans. The successful candidates will receive an email in August or early September. Before the application deadline, Rambøll will host a webinar on the topic ‘How do I write a compelling CV and cover letter?’.

How realistic are your chances?

Only three scholarships are awarded each year, so competition is fierce. However, the scholarships are restricted to five academic departments and to students at Danish universities who are going abroad, which narrows down the pool of applicants. Your personal statement and your study plan for your time abroad clearly play an important role for the selection committee. If you meet the subject area criteria and can demonstrate a well-planned exchange programme, you stand a real chance of success with a carefully drafted application.
