Geography and Environmental Science Undergraduate International Scholarship

What you get

You get up to about 5,200 EUR (£4,500) off your tuition fees in your first year. This is a one-off discount on your fees for Year 1 only, not a payment into your account. It comes from the University of Southampton and is part of its Merit Scholarships for international undergraduates, awarded for strong grades.

Who can apply

• Level: You are starting Year 1 of an undergraduate degree. Foundation, postgraduate and continuing professional development courses do not count.
• Field of study: Your course is in Geography and Environmental Science.
• Where you study: You study full time, on campus in the UK. Distance learning, partner institutions and the Malaysia campus are not covered.
• Fee status: You pay the overseas (international) tuition fee.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you pay international fees.
• Offer: You hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible course.
• Grades: You have an A or A* at A-Level, a grade 6 or 7 at Higher Level in the International Baccalaureate, or an equivalent qualification.

How to apply

There is no separate application and no separate deadline. You are considered automatically when you apply for your course. If you meet the criteria, the university tells you by email.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is narrowly cut. It is only for international first-year students in Geography and Environmental Science who already have top grades. If you clearly meet those grade thresholds and hold an offer for an eligible course, your prospects are good, because you are considered automatically. Selection is based purely on academic strength, so strong results are what decides it.
