UAL International Postgraduate £10,000 Scholarship

You get a tuition fee waiver of about 11,600 EUR (£10,000), a one-off cut to what you pay for a taught master's at the University of the Arts London (UAL). A taught master's is a course based on classes and assessment, not pure research. The money goes straight to your fee account in your first year. If you study part-time or over a longer full-time period, any amount left over is applied to your second year. For 2026/27, UAL offers up to 288 of these scholarships across its art, design, fashion and communication colleges.

Who can apply

• Offer in hand: You already hold an offer for a full-time or part-time taught master's at a UAL college starting in 2026/27, leading to a Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes or MSc.
• Fee status: You pay the Overseas (international) fee rate. This is for international students, not UK Home students.
• Grades: You have, or are predicted to get, an upper second-class honours degree (a 2:1) or better, or a recognised equivalent.
• Field of study: Any UAL subject counts, from fine art and fashion to communication, design and business.
• Personal statement: You write short answers (max 350 words each) on your achievements, your plans for the degree, and what you would bring to university life.
• Not eligible: UAL Online courses do not count. You also cannot apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or an equivalent earned in the UK).

How to apply

First get your course offer. Then apply through the 'my funding' page in your UAL applicant portal, which opens forms from December 2025. Apply in the same round your offer was made. The deadline is 27 March 2026 (Round 1) or 26 June 2026 (Round 2) for autumn 2026 starts, and 30 October 2026 for a January 2027 start. A UAL panel decides on your written application alone, with no interview.

How realistic are your chances?

With up to 288 awards, this is one of the more generous UAL scholarships, so there are many places. But it is open to all international master's applicants across every UAL subject, which makes it well known and contested. Strong grades get you over the entry bar. Your personal statement is what sets you apart. Applying in Round 1 gets you an earlier decision and is the safer bet.
