What you get

You receive a one-off scholarship of SEK 1,600 to SEK 52,000 (about 140 to 4,600 EUR). A typical award is around SEK 11,000 (about 970 EUR). The exact amount depends on which of the roughly 250 individual scholarships you match. These come from many different foundations. Lund University and its student nations (Lund's traditional student societies) hand them out twice a year. In recent rounds, Lund shared out over SEK 3.4 million each semester among just under 300 recipients.

Who can apply

• University: You are a current student at Lund University.
• Degree level: University scholarships go to Bachelor's and Master's students. Nation scholarships can also go to doctoral students.
• Nation membership: For a nation scholarship, you must be a member of one of the student nations.
• Nationality: Most of the roughly 250 scholarships are open only to Swedish students, because they are tied to Swedish family names, towns or regions. A smaller number are open to international students at Lund.
• Grades and study pace: You are ranked by field of study, grades and how fast you progress. Only credits earned at Lund University count.
• Special preferences: Some scholarships favour a particular subject, students born in Lund, members of a specific nation, or relatives of the founder. If a preference applies to you, you may need to upload proof.

How to apply

You apply online through Lund's scholarship application system. You submit only one application, which is automatically matched against every scholarship you qualify for. The autumn window runs 22 September to 5 October 2026, and the spring window is in February. Decisions come out in December for autumn and in April for spring. Results appear in the application system, not by email.

How realistic are your chances?

One application is matched against about 250 scholarships, so most eligible students are entered for several at once. In recent rounds, roughly a quarter to a third of applicants were awarded something. Your prospects are best if you are in your 5th to 8th semester with strong grades and a steady study pace. International students face a much smaller pool, since most of these funds are reserved for Swedish students.
