About this scholarship

Adlerbert Scholarships

You get 15,000 SEK (about 1,300 EUR) per scholarship as a bachelor's or master's student at the University of Gothenburg. You pick one of two types: money towards a study-related trip, or a contribution to your living costs while studying. Travel is funded first, so applying for a trip gives you better odds. You can receive at most two of these scholarships across your whole studies. The money comes from the Adlerbert Foundations, run by the University of Gothenburg's Scholarship Board.

Who can apply

  • University: You study at the University of Gothenburg at bachelor's or master's level.
  • Credits done: You have completed at least 30 credits at the university, recorded in Ladok (the Swedish student records system).
  • Current enrolment: You are registered for at least 30 credits during the scholarship year, 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
  • Field of study: All subjects are welcome.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply, as long as you are enrolled at the University of Gothenburg.
  • Travel grant only: If you apply for the travel type, your trip must go at least 50 km from Gothenburg. It must take place between 1 January 2026 and the start of the autumn 2027 semester.

How to apply

You apply through the university's online scholarship system between 24 August and 14 September 2026. There is no interview. Selection is purely administrative: applicants are ranked by how many credits they have recorded in Ladok, with more credits giving higher priority. Ties are settled by drawing lots.

How realistic are your chances?

Ranking depends only on your credits, so there is no essay or interview to win people over. Your prospects rise the further into your studies you are. Travel grants are awarded before living-cost grants, so applying for a study trip gives you the strongest position. With a solid number of credits and a travel application, your chances are good.
