Carl Lindhagen Jubilee Fund

You will receive a one-off grant of about 6,000 SEK (around 530 EUR) to take part in an international course, conference, camp or study trip abroad on the subject of peace and international affairs. The grant covers the costs of this trip or event. It is provided by the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society (Svenska Freds- och Skiljedomsföreningen). The grant is awarded only once every four years. The next round of awards will take place in 2029.

Who can apply

• Who it is for: You are a young person with an interest in peace who would like to take part in an international course, conference, camp or study trip abroad.
• Membership: You are a member of the Swedish Peace and Conciliation Society or another organisation that works to promote peace and international issues.
• Field of study: Any topic is fine, as long as your project fits in with the theme of peace and has an international focus.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Where you go: The event or trip takes place abroad.

How to apply

Please apply to the organisation by email or post. Please send a brief personal cover letter explaining how the money will be used, together with a financial plan. A CV is optional. The application deadline is 15 May of the relevant year, and you will be notified of the decision in mid-June.

How realistic are your chances?

This fund is narrowly focused and unusual. It is awarded only once every four years, exclusively to young people planning a specific peace-related trip or event abroad. This keeps the pool of applicants small. If you clearly meet the peace-related criteria, belong to an eligible organisation and can present a clear plan and a budget, your chances are good. The biggest hurdle is the timing: the next call for applications will take place in 2029.
