What you get

You receive financial support from the Crafoord Foundation, a Swedish foundation established in 1980. It awards grants for charitable, social, artistic and sporting purposes, as well as for causes in the public interest and for the education of young people. The Foundation determines the exact amount of funding on a case-by-case basis and does not publish this in advance. As a guide to the scale of the funding: in the year 2023, the Foundation paid out a total of approximately 7.9 million SEK (approximately 690,000 euros) to all recipients under this funding scheme. You will use the money in Sweden.

Who can apply

• Your purpose: You need a project that is charitable, social, artistic, sporting or in the public interest, or a project aimed at caring for, supporting or educating children and young people.
• Field of study: All compartments are open.
• Where the money goes: It is used for specific purposes in Sweden.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Who applies: Both individuals and organisations can apply.

How to apply

You should apply online via the Foundation’s application system during the application period for this funding. The application deadline is in early September. You will be notified of the decision in writing in December.

How realistic are your chances?

Each year, the foundation distributes a limited total amount amongst many recipients, meaning that the individual grants are generally rather modest. A clear, well-reasoned justification for a charitable, social or educational purpose is an advantage. Please submit your application within the specified timeframe and state precisely what the money is to be used for.
