About this scholarship
Johan Otto Lundgren Scholarship
You will receive an annual grant to fund your studies and subsequent vocational training. The exact amount is not disclosed. The funding comes from the ‘Stiftelsen Kronprinsessan Margaretas Arbetsnämnd för synskadade’ (KMA), a Swedish foundation that supports people with visual impairments in Sweden. This is one of two scholarships awarded by the foundation each year. The other is primarily intended for language studies.
Who can apply
- Visual impairment: You have a visual impairment. You must provide evidence of this in the form of a medical certificate or a certificate from an eye clinic (Syncentral) that is no more than two years old.
- Age: You are under 30 years old.
- What the money is for: It is used for one’s degree course and subsequent vocational training.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome. The foundation supports people with visual impairments in Sweden.
How to apply
You apply online via the Foundation’s SEB application portal. You log in using BankID or your email address and password. The application window opens on 1 August and closes on 15 September at 23:59. You will receive a response by post or email in November. Paper applications will not be accepted.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is cut narrowly: you must be visually impaired, under 30, and able to document the impairment with a recent certificate. The eligible group is small, so few people compete for it. If you clearly meet those conditions and send your proof on time, your prospects are good. Just mind the short August-to-September window, because late applications are not accepted.
