Merit scholarships at the University of Brighton

For outstanding academic achievement during your Bachelor’s degree, you will receive a one-off award of approximately 1,000 GBP (around 1,150 EUR). The money comes from the university’s ‘Student Potential Fund’, which is made up of donations from alumni, staff, companies and charitable organisations. No application is required. Your programme director and faculty staff will select the students with the best grades and contact them directly. As a scholarship holder, you will also be included in the university’s scholarship holders’ network, which connects you with other scholarship holders and the wider community in Brighton.

Who can apply

• University: You are a Bachelor’s student at the University of Brighton.
• Grades: You achieved top marks during your degree.
• Study year: You are in your first, second or third year of study, but not in your final year.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they are studying in Brighton.

How realistic are your chances?

The university selects the top-performing students from each degree programme, so your prospects depend on how you compare with your fellow students. Focus on your grades. If you are among the top students in your degree programme in a year that does not yet lead to a degree, you may be contacted. There is no application, no deadline and no form to fill in, and the decision is not in your hands.
