About this scholarship
University of Buckingham Bursary
You will receive up to about 11,000 EUR (£9,500) over your two-year degree as a reduction on your tuition fees. This is not paid in cash, but is applied to your fees each semester. The University of Buckingham awards this grant on the basis of financial need. It is renewed each year, provided you progress to the next academic year. Only a limited number of places are available.
Who can apply
- Level of study: You are starting a two-year Bachelor’s degree (with Honours) at the University of Buckingham.
- Field of study: Open to all disciplines, from law and economics to psychology, computer science, history and English literature.
- Enrolment: You are a full-time student and will not be undertaking a placement year during the funding period.
- Nationality: You are a student from the UK.
- Financial need: You will receive a maintenance loan of at least £7,500,, or you can prove that you are in significant financial hardship. A maintenance loan is financial support provided by the UK government to cover your living costs whilst you are studying.
- Timing: You should apply at least two months before your enrolment date, which is the date on which you officially enrol.
How to apply
First, apply for your degree programme and receive a letter of offer, which will provide you with an application ID. Then complete the scholarship application form. The admissions team will review your application and notify you of the result by email. Please submit your application at least two months before you enrol.
How realistic are your chances?
This scholarship is not awarded on a competitive basis. It is based on financial need. So, if you are a full-time student from the UK who is receiving the required living costs loan or can demonstrate that you are in financial hardship, you meet the basic eligibility criteria. The catch: there are only a limited number of scholarships available, and you must apply at least two months before enrolment. Apply early. If you receive your offer of a place on the course and submit the scholarship application form in good time, your chances are good.
