About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive up to about EUR 3,600 per year (up to £3,100) as a contribution towards your living costs whilst you are studying full-time at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Heriot-Watt University will make the payment. The amount depends on your household income, which will be assessed by Student Finance:
- Household income from £0 to £25,000: about EUR 3,600 (£3,100) per year
- Household income from £25,001 to £35,000: about EUR 2,450 (£2,100) per year
- Household income from £35,001 to £42,600: about EUR 1,280 (£1,100) per year
The funding is paid out in three instalments, usually in October, February and April. You can receive it during the academic years 1, 2, 3 and 4 of your degree programme. The academic year 5 is not eligible for funding. If you spend a year on an exchange programme, an internship, a sandwich year or a change of campus, you will retain your entitlement to funding during this period.

- University: You are studying at Heriot-Watt University in the UK.
- Level: You are a full-time undergraduate student, which means you are currently undertaking your first degree.

How to apply

How realistic are your chances?
There is no competition here. This is not a limited number of funding places, but an income-based entitlement. If you are studying full-time at Heriot-Watt, are classified as ‘Rest of the UK’ for tuition fee purposes, and your household income is £42,600 or below, you will receive the funding automatically. Simply ensure that your ‘Student Finance’ assessment has been completed and that you have given your consent.
