University of the West of England - UWE Alumni Scholarship (20%)

Benefit

If you have previously studied at UWE Bristol, you will receive 20% off the tuition fees towards a full-time postgraduate programme (Master’s level). The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) offers this as a loyalty benefit for former students. No cash payment is made; instead, it takes the form of a reduction in tuition fees. For full-time students, the discount covers the full cost of study. For part-time students, it is recalculated annually. Postgraduate students on research programmes (PhD, DPhil, MPhil, Prof Doc) receive the 20% only in their first full-time year, or in the first two years if they are studying part-time.

Eligibility

• Your past studies: You have obtained a degree from UWE Bristol (foundation year, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree), including a period of study at a UWE partner university in the United Kingdom or abroad. Eligible continuing education modules (at least 60 credits), study periods abroad, Erasmus exchange programmes and summer schools will also be taken into account.
• What you study next: A full-time postgraduate degree programme at UWE Bristol.
• Step up in level: Your new degree programme must represent a higher qualification than the one you obtained at UWE. A postgraduate diploma leading to a Master’s degree is permitted. You are not permitted to repeat the same level of study.
• Excluded courses: Some degree programmes are not eligible for funding, including all PGCE programmes, the PG Certificate in PET-CT, the PgDip in Public Health, the MSc in Nuclear Medicine and the MSc in Medical Ultrasound. Repeat modules, integrated degree programmes/continuing professional development courses and work-based degree programmes are also excluded.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

There is neither a separate application nor a deadline. Simply state your UWE Bristol student number in your application for the postgraduate programme. The discount will be applied once your eligibility has been confirmed.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not an award that is granted following a selection process. There is no selection process and there is no set number of places. If you are a graduate of UWE Bristol and wish to undertake a further degree programme that is not on the exclusion list, the 20% will be granted automatically. The only question is whether the degree programme you have chosen meets the requirements.
