Benefit

You receive a one-off payment of 10,000 EUR to carry out your own art or research project. The money is awarded once a year by the graduate network of the University of Art and Design Linz (Kunstuniversität Linz) in Austria, together with a sponsoring bank. You can use it for an artistic project, an art-education project or artistic-scientific research, in Austria or abroad. You can also use it to continue work you have already started. It does not cover finished diploma or master's theses, projects you have already completed, or anything you do as part of a PhD or on behalf of the university.

Eligibility

• Degree: You have completed a Master’s or Diplom degree at the University of Art and Design Linz.
• Network membership: You are a member of the University’s alumni network (forum), which brings former students together.
• Age: You must be at least 35 years old by the application deadline.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects taught at the university.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Not eligible: Individuals with close ties to the network, such as members of the Executive Board and honorary or supporting members, are excluded from participation.

How to apply

Register once and then submit your project online via the university’s call for applications system. The annual submission deadline is 15 June at 23:59. An independent panel will decide on the award of the scholarship; its decision is final.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut very narrowly: only graduates of this one university who are also network members and at least 35 can apply, and just one person wins each year. That keeps the applicant pool small, but it also means a single strong project takes the whole 10,000 EUR. If you fit the criteria, your real lever is a clear, convincing project proposal rather than your CV.
