What this scholarship gave you

You have been awarded a full tuition-fee waiver for a full-time PhD or MPhil programme at University of Nottingham in the UK. You have not paid any tuition fees for the entire duration of the programme, which typically lasts three years at postgraduate level. Nottingham ran the programme in partnership with the University of Birmingham and offered a total of 20 full scholarships (10 at each university) to support Brazilian researchers. This programme has now ended and is no longer available.

Who could apply

• Nationality: You were a Brazilian citizen and were living in Brazil when you submitted your application.
• Fee status: For the purposes of tuition fees, you were classified as an international (‘foreign’) student.
• Degree: You have already been offered a place on a full-time PhD or MPhil programme at the UK campus in Nottingham, starting in September or October 2014.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Your situation: At the time of your application, you had neither worked nor studied abroad.

How you applied

Firstly, you had to have been admitted to a PhD or MPhil programme at Nottingham. Only then could you apply for exemption from tuition fees. The deadline was 17 March.
