About this grant / loan

What you get

You will receive a one-off payment of about 142 EUR to cover your accommodation costs whilst studying at the University of Pavia. This is not a monthly grant, but a one-off lump sum to cover your accommodation costs for the year. The grant is administered by EDiSU Pavia, the regional authority for the right to education. It is funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and by the University itself.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled at the University of Pavia.
  • Living away from home: Your family home is too far away from Pavia to travel back and forth every day, so you’re renting a flat near the university.
  • Rent: You are actually paying rent for this accommodation during the reference year.
  • Income: Your ISEE is up to approximately 40,000 euros. The ISEE is the official Italian measure of your household’s financial situation.
  • No double funding: You are not currently receiving any other public funding for study-related accommodation costs that overlaps with this.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: All nationalities welcome.

How to apply

You can apply online via the published call for applications. The current funding round, funded by the Ministry, closes on 6 August at 23:59. You must submit your ISEE certificate, as well as proof of your tenancy agreement and your expenses.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed at a narrowly defined target group: you must be studying in Pavia, living in rented accommodation away from your parents’ home, and not exceed the income threshold. If you meet these criteria and can provide proof of your rent, your chances are good. The grant is modest and funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to submit your application with all the necessary documents.
