About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive about 9,000 EUR per year (AUD 15,000) off your tuition fees. Monash will cover this amount each year until you graduate, up to a total of approximately 45,000 EUR (AUD 75,000), depending on the duration of your degree programme. Monash University in Australia awards 20 of these scholarships each year. You are also warmly invited to apply for ‘Monash Minds’, a leadership programme for students who are just starting their studies.

Eligibility

  • Degree: You will be starting a full-time Bachelor’s degree programme at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Offer: You have received an unconditional offer from Monash University, i.e. a place on the course for which no further conditions need to be met.
  • Nationality: Any country. The scholarship is open to international students.
  • Field of study: Virtually all degree subjects are included, ranging from art and engineering to law, economics, natural sciences, computer science and health sciences. The Bachelor of Medical Science and the Doctor of Medicine (MD) are excluded.
  • Grades: Your weighted average mark (WAM) is above 85. The WAM is the average of your marks across all subjects.
  • New starter only: You are not yet a student at Monash University. You are not taking part in the ‘Australian Year’ 12, are not enrolled on a Monash foundation or preparatory programme, and are not transferring from another Monash campus or another Australian university.

How to apply

There is no separate application process. If you are an international student and receive an offer of admission to a bachelor’s degree programme at Monash University, you will automatically be considered. Selection is based solely on your academic results.

How realistic are your chances?

Each year, only 20 scholarships are awarded, which are open to international students worldwide – so there are a large number of applicants and the competition is fierce. As selection is based solely on academic results, a WAM that is significantly above the minimum threshold of 85 is what will set you apart from the rest. If you have a strong offer of admission and excellent grades, you’ll be in the running without any extra effort, as your application will be considered automatically.
