About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a grant of about 3,480 EUR (3,000 GBP) for one academic year. It will be paid directly to you and does not need to be repaid. The money comes from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is intended for older students who are starting their first degree and have not followed the usual route into university.
Eligibility
- Degree level: You are starting your first bachelor’s degree.
- University: You have been offered a place to study at Goldsmiths, University of London.
- Age: By the first day of your course, you will already have completed 25.
- Nationality or residence: You are a British national or have been living in the United Kingdom for at least three years.
- Field of study: Any topic is fine.
- Background: You haven’t followed the usual path from school to university, and you can demonstrate that you have what it takes to succeed.
- Route into the course: You are not transferring from another degree programme at Goldsmiths, such as a foundation programme or a ‘Year Zero’ course.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding scheme is very narrowly defined. You must have a grade above 25, have been offered a place at Goldsmiths, and come from a non-traditional background. As a result, the pool of eligible applicants is significantly smaller than for open scholarships. If you clearly meet these criteria and can demonstrate your abilities, your chances are good. As only a few of these scholarships are awarded, you should apply as early as possible.
