About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive a one-off grant of approximately 12,000 DKK (about 1,600 EUR), which is intended to enable you to attend a Danish folk high school (Højskole). This is a boarding school that offers courses on general and social topics. The grant is linked to the international work camps organised by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke (MS ActionAid Denmark), which also administers the scholarship. The annual amount is divided amongst several students, so the exact amount you receive may vary.

Eligibility

  • Who it is for: You are an international (non-Danish) student attending or about to attend a Danish folk high school.
  • Field of study: Any subject, since folk high schools do not award formal qualifications.
  • Where you come from: Applicants of all nationalities except Danish are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to students from developing countries and Eastern Europe.

How to apply

You do not apply yourself. Your folk high school submits the application for you. The deadline is 20 March, and grants are handed out in April or May.
