About this scholarship
Benefit
You do a paid training placement of 3 to 4 months in a company in one of Galicia's key industries. You get a grant worth at least half the Spanish annual minimum wage, paid for the months you take part. If your placement is in a different town from where you live, you also get a travel allowance of at least 100 EUR per month. People with a recognised disability of 33% or more get an extra 100 EUR per month. During the placement you also get a personal tutor, an individual plan to help you find work afterwards, and at least 20 hours of extra training. You work at least 100 hours a month, at least 4 days a week, and can ask for a certificate of your experience at the end. The programme is run by the Youth Directorate of the Galician regional government (Xunta de Galicia) and co-funded by the EU.
Eligibility
- Age: You are at least 18 and under the upper age limit of the Spanish Youth Guarantee scheme.
- Where you live: You have been registered in Galicia (empadronamiento) for at least one year.
- Youth Guarantee: You are signed up in the Spanish Youth Guarantee system (SNGJ) in Galicia. This scheme is for young people who are not working and not in education or training.
- Sector: Your placement is in one of Galicia's strategic industries, for example aerospace, food and farming, biotech, automotive, renewable energy, shipbuilding, metalworking, textiles and fashion, or information and communication technology.
- Field of study: No specific qualification or field is required.
How to apply
You do not apply directly to the government. Non-profit organisations and Galician local councils apply for the funding, then select and place the young people, taking 8 to 12 participants each. To join, contact one of those organisations running a placement group. The placements run until autumn 2026.
How realistic are your chances?
The eligibility is narrow: you must be a young person not working or studying, registered in Galicia and in the Youth Guarantee scheme. That limits the pool to people in this specific situation. If you fit, the main step is finding an organisation running a placement group near you, since they decide who joins. Programmes favour rural areas and disadvantaged groups, so applicants from those backgrounds are actively sought.
