About this scholarship
What the EU Scholarship gives you
This scholarship cuts your tuition fees at the University of South Wales (USW) in Wales down to the same level UK students pay. You get it automatically if you qualify, and it covers every year of your course. How much you save depends on your programme:
- Undergraduate: about EUR 8,200 to EUR 8,700 per year off (£7,010 for Business or Creative Industries, £7,410 for Computing, Engineering, Sciences or Education). You then pay £9,790 per year.
- Postgraduate (MA/MSc/LLM/MBA in most subjects): about EUR 8,000 per year off (£6,840). You then pay £11,060. The MBA Global and LLM Legal Practice Course get a smaller cut (£3,470 and £3,070).
- Research degrees (PhD, MPhil, MRes, DBA): around £7,200 to £8,400 off per year based on 2025/26 figures. The 2026/27 amounts were not yet confirmed.
The original amounts are in British pounds; the euro figures are approximate.
Who can apply
- Nationality: You are a citizen of an EU member state (for example Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland or Austria).
- Level: You start an undergraduate, postgraduate or research course (PhD, MPhil, MRes, DBA).
- Field of study: Any subject qualifies, including Business, Creative Industries, Law, Computing, Engineering, Sciences and Education.
- Where you study: You start a course at the University of South Wales.
- Start date: You begin in September 2026 or February 2027.
- Deposit: You pay a deposit of at least £3,000 before you enrol.
How to apply
There is no separate scholarship application. You apply for your course directly on the USW website, or through UCAS for undergraduate programmes. If you qualify, your offer letter confirms the scholarship automatically.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competitive award. Every eligible EU student gets it automatically, so there is no selection panel or applicant pool to beat. If you hold EU citizenship, get a place on a USW course in one of the listed intakes and pay the deposit, you receive it. The only real hurdle is meeting the normal course entry requirements.
