About this scholarship
University of Nottingham China and Malaysia Alumni Scholarship
You get a 15% discount on your tuition fees for a full-time master's degree at the University of Nottingham in the UK. This is a fee reduction, not a cash payment. The amount comes straight off your tuition bill and is spread across your instalments, so it does not cover living costs. It runs for one year and cannot be extended if your studies take longer. The University of Nottingham gives this award only to graduates of its campuses in China and Malaysia.
Who can apply
- Your first degree: You have finished, or are in the final year of, a full-time bachelor's degree at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) or the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM). Combined programmes such as 2+1 or 2+2 do not count.
- What you study next: You have accepted an unconditional offer for a full-time master's in the UK. Any subject counts, except an MRes (a research-based master's).
- Fee status: You pay international tuition rates as an overseas student.
- Who pays for you: You fund your studies yourself. If a government, company, employer or charity sponsors you, you cannot apply.
- Other scholarships: You do not hold another University of Nottingham scholarship. If you win several, only the highest-value one applies.
How to apply
First apply for and accept a place on a full-time master's course. Do this at least six weeks before the scholarship deadline. Once you have an offer, submit the scholarship application through the finance section of the NottinghamHub portal. For a 2026 start, applications close at midnight UK time on Monday 12 October 2026. A staff panel then reviews all applications, so there is no first-come advantage.
How realistic are your chances?
This award is narrow: only self-funded graduates of the Ningbo China or Malaysia campuses who hold a firm UK master's offer can apply, so the eligible group is small. If you clearly meet those conditions, your prospects are good, especially as the panel checks genuine eligibility rather than filling a fixed number of places. Apply well before the October deadline to leave time for your offer to be processed.
