G&D Europe Scholarship

You get a one-time payment of 3,000 EUR towards the tuition fee for a bachelor's or master's programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). The money goes straight to the university and is deducted from your tuition bill. It covers one year only and cannot be extended. The scholarship comes from Jan-Paul Vegt and Yonggao Liu, two EUR graduates who own G&D Europe B.V. and want to help Chinese students study at their former university.

Who can apply

• Study level: You are a bachelor student in year 1, 2 or 3, or a master student in year 1 at EUR, as of the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
• Faculty: You study at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) or the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE).
• Nationality: You hold a Chinese passport.
• Where you have lived: You lived in China until your EUR programme started. You have not studied, worked or done an internship outside China before it. Double-degree programmes that begin outside the Netherlands do not qualify.
• Admission: You have an offer of a place at EUR, or permission to move up to the next year of your programme.
• Entrepreneurial spirit: Your motivation letter shows a drive to start or run a business.
• Ambassador role: You are willing to promote the scholarship fund, for example by writing a short report, giving an interview and providing a portrait photo.

How to apply

Email your documents to RSM at scholarships@rsm.nl by 1 May 2026. You send a motivation letter, CV and grade list. Second- and third-year students also add proof that they may continue. A selection committee first ranks candidates on merit and motivation. G&D Europe then makes the final choice from an anonymous shortlist, and results come out in early June.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly: you must hold a Chinese passport, have lived only in China until your studies, and be enrolled at one of two EUR faculties. That keeps the eligible group small. If you clearly fit those conditions and show an entrepreneurial angle in your motivation, your prospects are solid. Make sure your application is complete and on time, because incomplete ones are not considered.
