Alumni and Family Scholarship (University of Dundee)

You get a one-off fee reduction in your first year at the University of Dundee in Scotland. You get £3,000 (about 3,500 EUR) if you pay international (Overseas) fees, or £1,500 (about 1,750 EUR) if you pay Scottish, rest-of-UK or Republic of Ireland fees. The money comes straight off your tuition bill. If you have already paid your fees in full, you can get it refunded or moved to your accommodation account. The award covers Year 1 only and does not repeat in later years.

Who can apply

• Family link: You have a close family member who graduated from the University of Dundee or studies there now. This can be a parent, step-parent by marriage, spouse, brother, sister, or half-brother or half-sister by marriage. If that person still studies there, their tuition fees must be paid up to date.
• Offer: You hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible degree starting September 2026 or January 2027.
• Level: A bachelor's degree, or a taught master's degree.
• Study format: Full-time, taught on campus, and at least 12 months long.
• Tuition: Your programme fee is at least £8,500 for a bachelor's or £10,850 for a taught master's.
• Nationality: Open to all nationalities and every fee status: Scottish, rest-of-UK, Republic of Ireland and international.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Other funding: All your University of Dundee scholarships together can cover at most 50% of your fees. You cannot hold this award alongside full external sponsorship or a partner-university fee discount.

How to apply

You apply through the online form linked on the scholarship's webpage. Attach proof of your relationship, such as a birth or marriage certificate, plus your family member's Dundee student ID or degree certificate. There is no fixed deadline: you must apply before your course start date. If you are eligible, you receive an official award letter.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a contest for a limited number of places. It is a fee discount for anyone who meets the rules, and the family link does the real filtering. If a parent, sibling or spouse has studied at Dundee and you hold an offer for an eligible full-time programme, your chances are strong. The main things that rule people out are the minimum fee thresholds and the 50% cap when you combine it with other Dundee awards.
