What the Royal Thai Government Scholarship covers

You will receive a full scholarship from the Thai Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) to study at University College London (UCL) in the United Kingdom. This will cover your tuition fees and provide you with a monthly living allowance. UCL will provide an additional contribution of 10% of the overseas tuition fee. The scholarship is for postgraduate study (Master’s or research degree). The duration is determined by the OCSC’s funding guidelines for your programme.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You must be a Thai national.
• Where you study: You’re studying at University College London in the UK.
• Study level: You are studying on a Master’s programme or a research programme.
• Field of study: Any topic is allowed.
• Selection exam: You must pass the OCSC’s annual scholarship assessment, which entitles you to study at a UK university.
• UCL place: You must have been offered a place on a degree programme at UCL.

How to apply

Apply directly to the OCSC and sit its annual selection test. Apply separately to UCL for a place on a degree programme. If the OCSC selects you and UCL offers you a place, the UCL tuition fee of 10% will be added automatically.

How realistic are your chances?

The selection criteria are strict: only Thai nationals who pass the OCSC’s annual selection examination and are subsequently offered a place at UCL are eligible. The pool of candidates is small, but the examination is demanding. The decision on the scholarship is made by the OCSC in Thailand, not by UCL. If you pass the OCSC selection process and secure a place at UCL, the top-up payment towards UK tuition fees will be made automatically.
