Two ways to cut your tuition at Aston University

Aston University in Birmingham (UK) offers international postgraduate students two separate tuition discounts for the September 2026 intake. Both reduce your course fees. Neither pays out cash, and you can only hold one at a time (the higher-value one wins).

• International Community Scholarship: A tuition discount of about 4,700 EUR (£4,000). This rises to about 6,400 EUR (£5,500) for ten selected MSc programmes such as Finance, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and International Business. It applies to your first (and only) year. It is automatic: no application, no competition.
• Sir Adrian Cadbury Chancellor's Scholarship: A larger tuition discount of about 11,700 EUR (£10,000) for your first year. This one is competitive and needs an application. It is named after Sir Adrian Cadbury, a business leader known for ethical business and education.

Who can apply

• Fee status: You are classed as an international ("overseas") fee-paying student.
• Course: You are starting a full-time taught postgraduate course (a taught master's, not a research degree) on the Birmingham campus in September 2026. This must be your first year of the course.
• Funding: You pay your own fees. If an employer, government or other sponsor funds you, you cannot apply.
• Excluded courses: Not available for MBA, MRes and research degrees, the Overseas Pharmacy Assessment Programme (OSPAP), Physician Associate courses or online courses. The automatic Community Scholarship also excludes courses you enter through a partner progression agreement.
• Extra for the Cadbury award: You write a short statement (max 500 words) on how you plan to use your degree to help communities around the world.

How to apply

For the International Community Scholarship you do nothing. The discount is applied automatically once you pay your course deposit by the deadline in your offer letter. For the Sir Adrian Cadbury Scholarship you use a personal application link emailed to you after you receive your course offer. Submit your form and statement by Sunday 21 June 2026 (UK time). If more people apply than there are awards, a university panel picks the winners. The outcome comes on 29 June 2026.

How realistic are your chances?

The International Community Scholarship is near-certain if you fit the criteria, since it is automatic and non-competitive. The main thing is paying your deposit on time. The Sir Adrian Cadbury award is genuinely contested because it is worth more and places are limited, so a clear, specific statement about your community impact is what separates applicants. You cannot stack the two, but if you clearly meet the criteria you are at least guaranteed the automatic discount.
