About this scholarship

Grenoble INP Foundation International Excellence Scholarship

You will receive a scholarship to study for a Master’s degree at one of the Grenoble INP engineering schools in Grenoble, France. It is awarded for up to two semesters. This is a partial scholarship: it helps to cover your costs, but does not cover all of them. The funding comes from the Grenoble Institute of Technology Foundation, which is financed by donations from alumni, parents, staff and corporate partners.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are starting an international, English-taught Master’s degree programme at one of the Grenoble INP’s universities in France.
  • Degree level: You hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification required for admission to a master’s programme. To be eligible for a place on a post-master’s programme, you must have completed at least five years of higher education.
  • Age: You are under 28.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
  • Field of study: You are studying engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, materials science, cyber security, industrial engineering, environmental engineering or a related subject in the natural sciences.
  • English: If English is not your first language, please provide an official certificate such as TOEFL or TOEIC, or a letter of recommendation from a teacher. Knowledge of French is not required, but is an advantage.
  • Grades: You have achieved excellent results at school.

How to apply

First, apply via the online platform for your chosen Master’s programme at Grenoble INP by 28 February, and tick the box to apply for a French scholarship. The Foundation’s selection committee will then select the best candidates based on your academic transcripts, reference letters and your research proposal or personal statement. Exchange students must apply separately for the ‘International Excellence’ scholarship by 15 March.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is linked to specific English-taught Master’s programmes at Grenoble INP and recognises outstanding academic achievement; consequently, the pool of applicants is smaller than for open scholarships. The number of scholarships is limited, and selection is based solely on the criterion of excellence; consequently, an outstanding academic record and a compelling research proposal are crucial. If you clearly meet the entry requirements for one of the eligible programmes and apply by the deadline, your chances are good.
