About this scholarship
Benefit
You will receive a 10% to 40% discount on your tuition fees at IE University in Madrid, Spain, for the entire duration of your Master’s programme. IE University awards this grant to Master’s students who demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial spirit. This is an internal scholarship offered by IE, with awards based on both academic merit and financial need. Please note that this is exclusively a reduction in tuition fees. There is no cash payment, no monthly stipend and no contribution towards living costs.
Eligibility
- Degree level: You are applying for a Master’s programme at IE University or have already been admitted.
- Field of study: All master’s degree programmes are recognised, including business administration, law, architecture and design, political science and economics, as well as natural sciences and engineering.
- Where you study: You are studying on campus at IE University in Madrid.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Entrepreneurial track record: You have helped set up a business or are presenting a compelling, innovative business plan for a new idea. A plan for a new project within an existing company also counts.
- Financial need: Your financial situation is a factor, particularly if you have great potential but have little access to other sources of funding, such as loans.
How to apply
First, apply for admission to your chosen Master’s programme. You should then submit an application for financial support via the IE’s online platform. There is no fixed deadline. You can submit your application from the time you apply for admission right up until the start of your programme. A committee will usually review your application within 1 to 3 weeks of your admission and will notify you of the decision by email.
How realistic are your chances?
Funding is limited and awarded through a selection process, so meeting the criteria does not guarantee approval. This funding is aimed at applicants with demonstrable entrepreneurial experience or a convincing business plan, which is why the pool of applicants is smaller than for general scholarships. If you can clearly demonstrate this and substantiate it with evidence of financial need, your chances will improve. Apply as early as possible, as funds will run out once the places have been allocated.
