What the Kristianstad University Scholarship covers

At Kristianstad University in Sweden, you will receive 50% to 100% of your tuition fees waived. This is not cash. The amount is deducted directly from your tuition fees; so if only part of the fees is covered, you will have to pay the rest yourself. The exemption applies for one semester at a time. A grant awarded in the autumn is automatically carried over to the following spring, provided your grades are good enough to progress to the next semester. The university funds a limited number of these grants each year. Living costs are not included, and there is no additional money for family members.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a national of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, so you are required to pay tuition fees.
• Admission: You meet the entry requirements for your degree programme by the start of the semester and have paid the application fee via the Swedish admissions portal.
• Field of study: All degree programmes are eligible to apply, although priority will be given to English-taught, campus-based Master’s programmes.
• Bachelor applicants: To enrol on a Bachelor’s degree programme, you must have already completed at least two semesters at this university.
• Grades: Selection is based solely on your marks. Your financial situation is not taken into account.

How to apply

First, apply for a degree programme in Kristianstad via the Swedish admissions portal, Universityadmissions.se, where you will be issued with an application number. You should then apply for exemption via the university’s scholarship page. The deadline is 15 February. For the autumn intake, any grades or documents submitted after 2 February will not be taken into account. A university scholarship committee selects the scholarship recipients, and you will be informed of the result shortly after the admission decisions have been announced.

How realistic are your chances?

The scholarship place is restricted to fee-paying students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, which limits the pool of applicants. Places are awarded solely on the basis of academic results, with clear priority rules in place. You will move up the list if you apply by the deadline, list Kristianstad as your first choice, opt for an English-taught Master’s programme on campus, and have previously studied there. If you meet these priority criteria and have good grades, you have a realistic chance of receiving at least a partial fee waiver.
