What the Sports Scholarship gives you

You get a package of training and campus benefits to help you compete at a high level while you study at Royal Holloway, University of London. It includes strength and conditioning coaching, free Royal Holloway Sport gym membership, a branded kit package, a campus parking permit, and two hours a week of facility hire for you and your coach. You also get flexibility so training and competitions do not clash with your studies, plus free athlete lifestyle workshops and networking opportunities. Financial support is assessed case by case, so there is no fixed cash sum. The scholarship runs for the length of your degree and is reviewed each year to check you still meet the conditions.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You have an offer to study any bachelor's or master's degree at Royal Holloway, University of London.
• Level: Open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Your sport: You compete in a sport recognised by BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport, the body running university sport in the UK), covering 55 sports including athletics, swimming, rowing, football, rugby, tennis and cycling.
• Standard: You compete at national level as a minimum, with the potential to represent your country internationally.
• Nationality: Open to both UK and international students.
• Subject: Open to all subjects.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is aimed at a narrow group: students who already compete at national level and can show international potential, so the eligible pool is small.
