Lavendla sustainability scholarship

You get a one-off prize of 10,000 SEK (about 900 EUR) for a finished thesis on sustainability and reducing climate impact. This is a single award for one completed piece of work, not monthly support. Lavendla gives it once a year and has done so since 2021. Lavendla is a Swedish company offering funeral, legal and therapy services. Your thesis does not have to be about those areas, though work on them is welcome. Past winners wrote on topics such as circular economy strategies for cutting plastic, edible mycelium as a food source, and climate change litigation.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You wrote your thesis at a Swedish university or university college (högskola).
• Level: Open to bachelor's, master's and research level.
• Topic: Your work is about sustainability and reducing climate impact. All fields of study are welcome.
• Published: Your thesis is already published when you apply, and you can give a link to it.
• Nationality and age: Open to all nationalities and any age.

How to apply

You apply through the online form on Lavendla's scholarship page. You give your details, a link to your published thesis, your university and a short explanation of how your research advances knowledge on sustainability. The deadline for the current round is 31 December 2026. The winner is announced by 28 February 2027.

How realistic are your chances?

Only one prize is given each year, and only for a published thesis on sustainability from a Swedish institution. The single-winner format makes it competitive. But the narrow topic keeps the field of applicants smaller than an open scholarship. A clearly sustainability-focused thesis with a strong explanation of its impact has real prospects.
