Promise Award (Promisepriset)

You receive a one-time prize of 10,000 SEK (about 900 EUR) for the best thesis or essay on adult workplace learning supported by digital media. The prize is awarded by Promise, a Swedish trade association for companies that work on skills development and digital learning. This is not a monthly grant. It rewards a piece of coursework you have already finished and had graded. Winners are announced in the second half of autumn.

Who can apply

• Level: You submitted a thesis or essay during the past academic year as a student at a Swedish university, university college or YH programme (yrkeshögskola, a vocational higher-education course).
• Grade: Your work was graded at least a pass (godkänd) before you enter it.
• Topic: Your work deals, from any angle, with skills development and learning for adults in working life supported by digital media.
• Field of study: Any subject is fine, as long as the content fits the topic. Winners often come from human resources, informatics, information systems, pedagogy or cognitive science.
• Who enters it: You can enter your own work, or a teacher, supervisor or examiner can nominate it. Either way, you need a short written reason from a supervisor or examiner.

How to apply

You send your entry by email, attaching the thesis or essay as a PDF plus the short nomination reason. The deadline for the 2026 award is 14 July 2026. A first round shortlists three works, and the Promise board then picks the winner based on relevance to the field.

How realistic are your chances?

The topic is narrow: your thesis must specifically address adult workplace learning with digital media. That rules out most coursework and keeps the field small. If your work clearly fits that theme and scored well, your prospects are good, especially since it is a single prize judged partly on practical relevance to the industry rather than grades alone.
