Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship at Teesside University

You will receive a one-off grant of fee waiver worth about 8,100 EUR (7,000 GBP), which will be deducted from your tuition fees in your first year of study. Up to 30 of these grants are awarded each year. The exemption applies only to the first year; there will be no further payments or extensions thereafter. Teesside University, in the north-east of England, offers this funding to international students studying at its Middlesbrough or Darlington campuses.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You enrol at a campus in Middlesbrough or Darlington. Online courses and Teesside courses taken outside the UK do not count towards your degree.
• New starter: You are enrolling at Teesside University for the first time and will be starting your degree in September 2026.
• Fee status: You pay international tuition fees.
• Degree level: You are undertaking a Bachelor’s degree (including level 0) or a practice-oriented Master’s degree. Foundation courses (level 3) and research-based programmes such as a PhD or DBA (level 8) are not permitted.
• Field of study: Any subject offered at these levels.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they pay the fees applicable to international students.
• Offer accepted: You have accepted your conditional offer and paid the deposit specified in your offer letter.
• No combining: This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship offered by Teesside University or the Alumni Scholarship.

How to apply

You must submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words. In it, please outline your personal and academic strengths, your ambition to take on a leading role on the global stage, and how studying at Teesside University fits in with your plans. The International Scholarships Committee assesses all applications. It may review your financial situation and your previous academic results, sometimes as part of a follow-up interview. Only successful applicants will be notified by email. The application deadline for the September 2026 intake has now passed.

With up to 30 scholarships awarded each year and no restrictions on subject area or nationality, this scholarship scheme is broad in scope, meaning that many international students apply for it.
