About this scholarship

Benefit

For each remaining year of study, you will receive about 1,000 EUR per year (£800), up to a maximum of four years. University College London (UCL) awards this grant to older students on the French degree programme.

Eligibility

  • Course: You’re studying French on the Bachelor’s degree programme at UCL.
  • Age when you started: You were 21 or older when you first enrolled at UCL. Preference will be given to applicants who are older than 35.
  • Study stage: Following your application, you will be starting your second or final year of study in the academic year.
  • Financial need: You need financial support to be able to continue your studies.
  • Commitment: You can demonstrate a genuine commitment to your studies.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is very restrictive. Only Bachelor’s students studying French at UCL who began their degree at the age of at least 21 are eligible to apply; preference is given to students over the age of 35, meaning that the pool of eligible candidates is small. If you meet these criteria and can demonstrate both financial need and genuine commitment, your chances are good.
