Research Traineeship Grant of the University of Valencia

You will receive a one-off payment of 1,000 EUR for your participation in a real research project at the University of Valencia (UV) in Spain. You will take part in an ongoing project led by a researcher at the UV and gain your first practical experience of academic work on a topic relevant to your own studies. Over the course of the year, you will complete 225 hours, which must be finished by 31 August 2027. This is a training grant and not a job, so there is no employment contract. You can only receive it once.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled at the University of Valencia for the academic year 2026–2027.
• Study phase: You are in the final year of your Bachelor’s degree and have earned at least 180 credit points by 30 September 2026, or you are in the first year of an official Master’s programme at the UV.
• Grades (bachelor students): You meet the minimum grade point average requirement for your field of study: 6.00 in engineering and architecture, 7.00 in natural and health sciences, 7.50 in social sciences, law, arts and humanities.
• Field of study: Any subject area, provided the research topic is relevant to your own degree programme.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply; the key requirement is that you are studying at the UV.
• No higher degree: You do not yet hold any other qualification at the same or a higher level, nor are you able to obtain one.
• Once only: You have not yet received this grant.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the University of Valencia’s online form. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 round is 19 October at 14:00. Your project must be supported by a researcher at the University of Valencia, and selection is based on your grade point average.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is restricted to students at a specific university who are at a particular stage of their studies and can demonstrate a specified grade point average; consequently, the pool of applicants is smaller than for an open scholarship. The biggest hurdle is finding a UV researcher whose current project is relevant to your course of study and who is willing to support your application. If you have the required grades and a supervisor on your side, and you apply before the October deadline, your chances are good.
