What the UCAM Ibero-America programme gives you

You will receive a monthly grant of up to 6 months to spend a semester studying at a partner university in Latin America. The amount depends on which grant you are awarded: some students receive 300 EUR per month, others 200 EUR per month. For four separate Erasmus+ places, 700 EUR per month plus a 1,735 EUR travel top-up will be paid for up to 4.5 months. These four places are only available for partner universities with an Erasmus agreement and only if you have not yet used up your 12 Erasmus months. There are no enrolment fees at the host university, and the courses you pass will count towards your UCAM degree. The programme is run by the Office of International Relations at the Catholic University of San Antonio (Murcia, Spain).

Who can apply

• Your university: You must be enrolled on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme at UCAM, both at the time of application and throughout your stay abroad.
• Where you go: You’ll be spending the semester at a partner university in Latin America. There are more than 40 destinations to choose from, including Mexico and Brazil.
• Study progress: You have earned at least 60 ECTS credits. Business administration students must have completed their entire first year of study.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. If you are not a Spanish national, you will need a Foreigner Identification Number (NIE).
• Language: For Spanish-speaking study locations, you will need at least writing level B1 (as demonstrated by a UCAM exam or a certificate). For English-, French- or German-speaking study locations, you will need a B2 certificate or to sit a free UCAM exam. For Italian- or Portuguese-speaking study locations, you must enrol on a language course.
• Grades and credits: Places on degree programmes are allocated to students who have earned the most ECTS credits and have the highest average mark; therefore, better academic performance takes precedence.

How to apply

You must apply online via UCAM’s Laurea system by 20 December. You must upload a copy of your identity card (or your NIE) and, if available, a language certificate that is no more than three years old. If English, French or German is required for your place of study and you are unable to provide a certificate, you must sit the UCAM language test.

How realistic are your chances?

As this is an internal UCAM programme, only UCAM students may take part, which already limits the pool of applicants. Places are limited: 24 UCAM scholarships worth 200 or 300 euros, as well as four Erasmus+ places. The ranking is based solely on the number of ECTS credits earned and your grade point average. If you have strong grades, have already accumulated a good number of ECTS credits and meet the language requirements for your destination country, your chances are good.
