About this scholarship

What you get

You get a one-time award of about 4,600 EUR (5,000 USD) towards a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity. The money goes straight to your college or university in July, not to you. It is a single payment, not an ongoing grant, so you must reapply each year to be considered again. You also join the Center's volunteer community and get to meet cybersecurity professionals. The award comes from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, a non-profit linked to the cybersecurity body ISC2, which has given out more than 1,000 scholarships since 2011.

Who can apply

  • Field of study: You are studying, or plan to study, cybersecurity, information assurance or a closely related subject.
  • Degree level: You are working towards a four-year bachelor's degree.
  • Grades: Your GPA is at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Nationality: Any nationality can apply. You do not need to be a US citizen.
  • Where and how you study: On campus or online, full time or part time, in the US or anywhere else in the world.
  • Timing: You plan to be enrolled in the coming autumn semester.

How to apply

One application covers all the Center's academic scholarships, so there is no separate form per category. If you are a female applicant who is a US citizen or permanent resident, you are also considered automatically for the 4,600 EUR (5,000 USD) Samantha Jennings-Jones Memorial Scholarship, with no extra application. Applications for 2026 are closed and reopen in 2027. Applicants are notified in early May.

How realistic are your chances?

The provider states plainly that these scholarships are very competitive, and the field is wide: any nationality, any study format, anywhere in the world can apply, so the applicant pool is large. The main narrowing factors are the cybersecurity focus and the 2.5 GPA, both easy bars to clear. If your subject and grades fit, treat this as a worthwhile long shot and apply as soon as the 2027 round opens.
