About this scholarship
International Postgraduate Welcome to Plymouth Scholarship
You get about EUR 4,700 (£4,000) off your tuition fees in your first year at the University of Plymouth. The award is a fee discount, so it comes straight off what you pay rather than as cash. There is no separate application: if you meet the entry conditions in your offer letter, the university adds the scholarship to your record automatically. You can also get an extra EUR 590 (£500) discount if you pay your first-year fees in full by 4 September 2026 (for the September 2026 intake).
Who can apply
- Degree level: You are starting a postgraduate taught programme. This means a master's-style course with classes and assignments, not a pure research degree.
- Where you study: You study in person on campus at the University of Plymouth, not online or by distance learning.
- First year: You are beginning your first year of study.
- International status: You are an international student who pays international tuition fees.
- English: You meet the university's standard English language requirements, or you complete one of its pre-sessional English courses.
- Field of study: Any postgraduate taught subject counts, except courses in the Peninsula Medical School and the Peninsula Dental School.
- Not sponsored: You are not funded by a sponsor. If you are sponsored, you must tell the admissions team, and the scholarship does not apply.
If you qualify for more than one Plymouth scholarship or discount, only the highest single amount is applied.
How to apply
There is no application. Once you have an offer and meet the conditions, the scholarship is added automatically through your applicant portal. If you are unsure whether you qualify, ask the admissions team.
How realistic are your chances?
This is not a competitive award with limited places. Every international postgraduate taught student who meets the entry conditions gets the discount automatically. The main things that could rule you out are studying online, being in a medical or dental school programme, or being sponsored.
